PATS Key Programming in 6 Easy Steps
Use the Ford Factory Tool for Transponder Key Programming.

1. Connect to Vehicle
• Make sure vehicle ignition key is OFF.
• Connect the OBDII cable to NGS at the DIAG LINK port.
• Insert Program Card into the slot.
• Connect the other end of the OBDII adapter cable to vehicle at the DLC connector
(located under dash, in driver’s compartment).

2. Select Service Bay Functions
• With key (programmed or unprogrammed) in the ignition, turn to RUN.
• From the Service Card Main Menu, select Service Bay Functions.

3. Select Module and Vehicle
• Select the module that corresponds to the vehicle you are servicing.

4. Select Enter Security Access
• Select Security Access from menu (for security purposes, this process takes about 10 minutes).
• Select the vehicle that you are programming.

5. Disconnecting NGS from vehicle
• Select Ignition Key Code Erase or Ignition Key Code Program from menu.
• Disconnect the OBDII adapter from the vehicle.

6. Cycle New Keys
• Turn the key to RUN for at least three seconds; then turn it off.
• Remove the key.
• Within five seconds of programming the key, insert second key and repeat step six.
